With a handmade copper pot still affectionately called ‘Peggy’ and using a vapour infusion distillation method, which steams the natural base spirit through the botanicals, Benromach Distillery have created a delicate Scottish Gin, described as elegantly simple and beautifully balanced. It delivers signature notes of juniper and defining citrus bite of bitter orange, with aromatic sea buckthorn, grassy, floral pearls of heather and chocolatey, smoky rowanberries.

A distillery famous for its red doors, single malt whiskies and distillation excellence. Therefore, it’s of no surprise, with their wealth of expertise and passion for spirits, that the team at Benromach Distillery decided to capture some of the spirit of Scotland’s majestic landscape in a gin. Red Door Gin is a new, rich and exciting chapter in the story of this Highland distillery.

London Dry Gin

London Dry Gin is both a flavour profile and a production method. London Dry Gins tend to follow the traditional, classic flavour of piney juniper, citrus and spice. Alongside juniper, botanicals in London Dry Gin often include orris root, angelica root, cassia bark, citrus peel and coriander, among the core botanicals. The result is a dry gin that features piney juniper along with bursts of citrus and warming spice and earthy, dry notes from use of botanicals such as cassia bark and coriander. Nothing synthetic can be added like flavourings or colours and nothing can be added post distillation apart from water and a tiny amount of sugar meaning all flavours come from distillation.

The Benromach Distillery, home to Red Door Gin, has been producing spirits in the Highlands for over 120 years. Red Door Gin is distilled behind one of the many real red doors at the distillery in Forres. Built in 1898, the distillery houses both whisky stills and now a gin still named ‘Peggy’, which is used to distil Red Door Gin. The Distillery welcomes visitors for a Red Door Gin experience, which includes a tour behind THE red door, a history of Benromach spirits and a tasting of their wares.
