Kevin and Lorien Cameron-Ross, owners and founders of Loch Ness Spirits, have family ties to the Loch Ness area and the Highlands stretching back over 500 years. They are one of the few gin distillers in Scotland who grow their own juniper berries, with Loch Ness Spirits opting to grow and nurture a crop of premium ‘black gold’ juniper berries for their gin. Added to the distillation mix is water sourced directly from the loch, adding a provenance and undeniable Scottish quality.

London Dry Gin

London Dry Gin is both a flavour profile and a production method. London Dry Gins tend to follow the traditional, classic flavour of piney juniper, citrus and spice. Alongside juniper, botanicals in London Dry Gin often include orris root, angelica root, cassia bark, citrus peel and coriander, among the core botanicals. The result is a dry gin that features piney juniper along with bursts of citrus and warming spice and earthy, dry notes from use of botanicals such as cassia bark and coriander. Nothing synthetic can be added like flavourings or colours and nothing can be added post distillation apart from water and a tiny amount of sugar meaning all flavours come from distillation.

Overlooking the shores of Loch Ness and surrounded by a mix of rugged mountain slopes and green rolling fields, you’ll find the Loch Ness Spirits Distillery discreetly tucked away off the beaten track in a traditional stone horse stable. The distillery is home to three stills, two traditional alembic copper pot stills named ‘Tiny Tony’ and ‘Not Tony’ as a thoughtful nod to a well respected Scottish distiller and an iStill. All distillation takes place at the distillery along with all bottling and labelling, which is done by hand.
