Latitude Drinks was the brainchild of seasoned bartender and mixologist Michael McColm. Launched in 2020, Michael created the Latitude Drinks brand with the unique concept of using botanicals that are found along a certain latitude across the world. An original idea that provided the basis for a variety of spirits including gin inspired by nature and regional variation along with adventure and exploration.
Working with award-winning distiller Lewis Scothorn at Distillutions, Michael has put the focus on botanicals that can be found along their respective latitudes but also flavours that carefully complement and excite in equal measure, showing how flavours from different regions can be connected.
51°N Old Tom Gin from Latitude Drinks combines a variety of botanicals including juniper, elderflower, red apple, rosehips, sea buckthorn and Ginseng, with all these botanicals found along the same latitude. The gin is then blended with Canadian Maple Syrup to add the sweet element that is traditionally found in an Old Tom style gin.
