The Inverclyde Gin brand was launched by the team at The Start-Up Drinks Lab in 2020. Opening it’s doors in 2017, The Start-Up Drinks Lab was the brainchild of Hannah Fisher and Craig Strachan who met by chance at a business entrepreneurial event and is a specialist provider of drinks development services. From initial concept to shelf, covering most, if not all aspects of creating a drinks business, the idea the business.

Based in the Port of Glasgow in Inverclyde, the area and name is famous around the world for being at the heart of the UK’s ship building once buoyant industry. It’s this industrial heritage and history that continues to inspire  The Start-Up Drinks Lab team to develop and launch their own range of Scottish Gin, Inverclyde Gin. The team at The Start-Up Drinks Lab chose to work with a multi-award-winning independent Scottish distiller on the development of the signature Inverclyde Gin, which was refined across a number of variations before the team decided on the final recipe.

Inverclyde Gin

Inverclyde Gin is distilled with seven gin botanicals including sweet orange, samphire and sea buckthorn. On the nose theres an aroma of the sea from the sea buckthorn and samphire along with a fresh burst of bright orange. On the palate the gin has tones of coastal and herbaceous flavours balanced with citrus sweet oranges.

Inverclyde Gin Port Strength

Inverclyde Gin Port Strength Gin is distilled with eight gin botanicals, including sweet orange, samphire, sea buckthorn and ginger.  Port Strength is a more significant, bolder infusion of the coastal botanicals found in the signature Inverclyde Gin, coupled with a touch of ginger. The result is a high-strength Scottish Gin that delivers bold flavours thanks to the higher 55.9% ABV, but still retains the balance and pleasant mouthfeel of the signature Inverclyde Gin.

Inverclyde Gin Old ‘Thom’

Inverclyde Gin Old 'Thom' is distilled with six gin botanicals including elderflower, milk thistle, cassia and orange peel. The cassic Old Tom Style Gin brings together the subtle dryness of a London Dry Gin with a sweet warming finish. Inverclyde Gin Old 'Thom' is a play on the ‘Old Tom’ name and refers to the infamous loch found amongst the stunning scenery of the Greenock Cut. The gin has flavours of elderflower and orange peel for a fresh sweetness, leading to notes of milk thistle and cassia for a warming spice and rich complexity. Sweetened by the famous tart flavours of brambles found across our forestry and coastlines, then finished off with creamy caramel notes of golden syrup.
