The Start-Up Drinks Lab opened its doors in 2017 as a specialist provider of drinks development services. From initial concept to shelf, the business was the brainchild of Hannah Fisher and Craig Strachan who met by chance at a business entrepreneurial event. Based in the Port of Glasgow in Inverclyde, the area was famous around the world for its ship building industry.
The team at The Start-Up Drinks Lab wanted to create a gin brand that paid tribute to the history, the area and the people of Inverclyde and so the idea was born. Working with a multi-award winning Scottish distiller, once the gin has been distilled, it’s transported to and bottled at the The Start-Up Drinks Lab.
Inverclyde Gin is distilled with seven gin botanicals including sweet orange, samphire and sea buckthorn. On the nose theres an aroma of the sea from the sea buckthorn and samphire along with a fresh burst of bright orange. On the palate the gin has tones of coastal and herbaceous flavours balanced with citrus sweet oranges.
