The categories for The Gin Cooperative Awards 2022 cover the key gin styles and production methods including London Dry, Navy Strength, Cask Aged, Bathtub and more. Entries will go through a rigorous and considered judging process, looking at the qualities of the spirit neat, how it works with tonic and how the gin is presented in the bottle. The top scores for each will be collated to award our Gold, Silver and Bronze winners across each of the categories and 14 awards.
Taste Score: Every entry will be judged blind, other than an indicator of category and approximate ABV. Every entry will be judged by a minimum of 9 separate judges – 3 industry judges, 3 community judges, 3 consumer judges. Entries will be scored neat and as a gin and tonic, judged on appearance, nose, palate, finish and mouthfeel. Judges will also provide a personal judge’s score out of 100.
Packaging Score: Packaging will be scored based on the bottle, design and shelf appeal.
A “drink and judge responsibly” message will be communicated to all judges throughout the judging process.
