The Gin Cooperative Awards combines taste and packaging, providing producers with a score and feedback that is truly representative of their product in its entirety. Tasting also goes one step further than most competitions, as the entries are scored both neat and as a gin and tonic. Our judging panel includes individuals from the spirits industry, the gin community and consumers, carefully selected so our awards programme is a real-world reflection of all types of gin drinkers. Learn more about our judges here.

Awards 2025

The taste categories for The Gin Cooperative Awards 2025 cover the key gin styles and production methods, specifically London Dry, Distilled, Old Tom, Navy Strength and Flavoured. All entries go through a considered judging process, looking at the qualities of the spirit neat, how it works with tonic and how the gin is presented in the bottle. Learn more about our awards, including our rigorous judging process and scoring criteria, by downloading our media pack here.

All gins entered into their respective taste category are automatically entered into the additional categories of: Scottish Gin of the Year, Scottish Gin and Tonic of the Year, New Scottish Gin of the Year (released in the last 12 months), Seasonal Scottish Gin (where applicable), Scottish Gin Packaging of the Year, Industry Judges Award, Community Judges Award and Consumer Judges Award. The top scores for each category will be collated to award our Gold, Silver and Bronze winners across each of the 14 awards. Highly Commended awards are given to entries that showed exceptional qualities and came within a 3% margin of a bronze award.

A “drink and judge responsibly” message is communicated to all judges throughout the judging process.
