Redcastle Gin has been created by John Anderson, founder of Redcastle Brewery, and Fiona Walsh, who has a wealth of drinks industry expertise. Collectively, they have a passion and enthusiasm for creating authentic, great tasting products. Together, they have successfully created a gin which is expertly created, carefully distilled and lovingly bottled in Angus, Scotland.
The name comes from Red Castle, which overlooks the stunning Lunan Bay on the rugged east coast of Scotland. Now a ruin, the castle was built in the late 12th century to repel Viking invasions. John’s uncle, Jack Anderson, was the last Baron of Redcastle and the gin is a homage to him – a true Bon Viveur!
Launched in July 2017, Redcastle Gin is the first addition to the Redcastle Spirits family. Using a unique, secret blend of 13 botanicals including kaffir lime leaf and pink peppercorn, small batch distilled in Angus, it is a lightly spiced gin with a zesty edge. Each bottle is individually filled, sealed, wax dipped, labelled and numbered by hand at Redcastle Spirits in Carmyllie.
Key Botanical(s): Kaffir Lime Leaf, Pink Peppercorn
Strength: 40% vol
Goes great with: A twist of lemon peel, kaffir lime leaf, star anise, Aromatic tonic and ice.
