How many times can one person retire? Well, according to the founders of Duncan’s Scottish Gin, husband and wife Bob and Silvi Duncan, when there’s a life changing adventure on the horizon, the answer is not any time soon. After retiring three times, Silvi Duncan convinced her husband Bob that his retirement would be boring. From their background in the spirits and drinks industry, running the well respected and successful Logie Whisky & Wine Shop, the couple had seen first-hand the rise in popularity of Scottish Gin, with more and more Scottish Gins appearing on their shop shelves.
The couple had a business relationship with Distiller Walter Micklethwait at the Insriach Distillery, stocking several of his products in their shop. They knew Walter would be the perfect fit. The couple, both avid gin drinkers, knew the flavours and style of gin they wanted to create, so with the help of Walter, their young at heart approach to life, and full of entrepreneurial spirit, Silvi and Bob launched Duncan’s Scottish Gin in 2017.
The 6 botanicals reflect the colours in the Tartan - Black Juniper, Green Douglas Fir, Orange Rose Hip, White Bog Myrtle, Green Sweet Cicily, Green and Purple Spear Thistle, Clear Blue Spring Water. The colours of each botanical can also be found in the Duncan’s Tartan which is adorned on the bottle.
