The House of Boë takes its name from renowned Dutch Professor Franz de la Boë, a physician, chemist, physiologist and anatomist. In 1658, the Professor began developing a medicinal tonic by infusing a clear-grain spirit with various herbs and botanicals. One of these botanicals was juniper, and some say the Professor was the inventor of gin.
Jump forward to this century, and The House of Boë continues with the Professor’s ethos of creation and innovation. The House of Boë range of Scottish Gins combines a variety of botanicals and flavour combinations, with each spirit produced infused with flavours that excite and invigorate the palate.
The subtleties of Boë Scottish Gin are all in the selection and preparation of its botanicals – that fine balance of herbs and spices so crucial to its distinctive taste and quality. Juniper berries and their flavoursome oils are at the heart of the gin distillation, but it takes many more elements to make Boë special including coriander, angelica, ginger and other botanicals. To taste, it is clean, spiced and strikingly refreshing.
