In our Shaken & Stirred series, we ask Scotland’s Gin makers what cocktail works perfectly with their Scottish Gin and, just as importantly, how can we make it at home?

The family behind Mackintosh Gin have been enjoying this cocktail in Dundee’s Draffens Bar, created by Sarah Berardi, for some time and they felt it was appropriate to share it with all the Mackintosh Gin drinkers out there for our latest Shaken & Stirred. Mackintosh Gin works perfectly at the heart of this sweet yet sour cocktail. Here’s what you need to know to make it at home.

INGREDIENTS

• 60ml Mackintosh Gin 
• 30ml Lemon juice 

• 15ml Sugar syrup 
• 4 Dashes of Angostura bitters

• Twist of lemon peel, to garnish

These measures are a guide only and can be tailored to suit your own personal taste.

METHOD

Shake all ingredients over ice then strain into a chilled coupe glass. Garnish with a twist of lemon peel to finish.
