We’ve made this Scottish Gin Martini in celebration of National Martini Day, although frankly this classic cocktail can be enjoyed any day of the year. The exact origin of the Martini is unclear and over the years, the ratio of gin to vermouth has gone down, up and down again, but there’s a reason it’s remained a firm gin drinker’s favourite: it tastes very good.
• 60ml Esker Honey Spiced Gin
• 10ml Dry Vermouth
• Orange twist to garnish
These measures are a guide only and can be tailored to suit your own personal taste.
Stir the gin and dry vermouth together with ice and transfer into a chilled martini glass. Traditionally this would be served with an olive or lemon twist, but we’ve gone for an orange twist to complement the honey and spice.
Have fun and enjoy your drink responsibly.
