Round 1 Winners
“Absolutely delighted we came home from the World Gin Awards in London weighed down with a GOLD medal! To come runner up in the most hotly contested U.K. London Dry category is one hell of an achievement for us, narrowly pipped to the post by Whitby Gin, well done guys and best of luck against the rest of the world. Here’s to 2019.”
Sandy Morrison, Co-founder & Distiller, King’s Hill Gin
“It’s always nice to win an award, but for us we get a much bigger kick out of seeing and hearing just how much people love our gin and the extra lengths we go to craft something special.”
Graham Taylor, MD, Crafty Distillery
UK Compound Gin
“We are all delighted to have won best UK gin in our category for Johnsmas and to get silver in another for Rhubarb Old Tom. We’re looking forward to the 2nd round in London on the 21st February when all the country winners will contest for World’s best Gin. A huge congratulations to the other Scottish gins who have come away with awards this year.”
Gary Watt, Co-founder, Orkney Gin Company
“It is great for us to receive our first award for GoodWill Gin. We look forward to many more in an extremely competitive marketplace.”
Duncan Tait, Distillery Manager, GlenWyvis Distillery
“Arkh-Angell, our Navy-Strength Gin, has had a wonderful few months; winning the Gin Guide’s best Navy-Strength, silver at the Scottish Gin Awards and now gold at the World Gin Awards. Like all of our gins, Arkh-Angell is inspired by local Orcadian history and this particular bottle has real meaning to us, so we are delighted to have this recognition.”
Louis Wright, Head of Production, Orkney Distilling
Contemporary Style Gin
“Our Cottage Series is about showcasing botanicals that have a local connection to where we make our spirit. Getting a nod in the form of a Bronze for Very Berry is a real testament to the skill of our Distiller Scott and the incredible ingredients we have on our doorstep here in Fife.”
Emma Hooper, Brand Ambassador, Darnley’s Gin
The Best in each category as well as the World’s Best Gin will be announced on 21 February 2019 at the Gin Magazine Awards Dinner in London.
